You know what they say about opinions and... well, maybe you don't, but Rilio isn't the only one with an opinion. Here is a quick rundown on my picks for tonight's Oscar telecast, beginning in about 10 minutes. Henson, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Dark horse: Marisa Tomei, The Wrestler Animated Feature Film: Should Win: Kung Fu Panda Will win: WALL-E Directing: Should Win: Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire Will win: Boyle Dark horse: Gus Van Sant, "Milk" Writing (Adpated Screenplay): Should Win: Frost/Nixon Will win: Slumdog Millionaire Dark horse: Doubt Writing (Original Screenplay): Should Win: In Bruges Will win: Milk Dark horse: WALL-E Hugh Jackman Prediction: Sure, there are those who will sell the man short as an action-star who has more talents than claws. He can sing, he can dance--and not how Billy Crystal did it. He can do those things. And for those of you thinking: Why bring that to the Oscars? Note some of the first hosts of the awards ceremony--Fred Astaire and Bob Hope, one guy synonymous dancing in films, the other singing in them. So give Jackman--and the freshman producers--a break and enjoy.
