Blu-ray Review: Cinderella (Walt Disney Signature Edition)

Summary: ​Recently added to the prestigious National Film Registry, the animated classic centers on kind and hardworking Cinderella, who is ordered around by her cruel stepmother, her awful stepsisters - even the big clock in the church tower tells her when to start another day of drudgery. But they can't stop her from dreaming, and Cinderella has faith that someday her wishes will come true. It will take the help of her daring animal mice friends and a perfect fit into a glass slipper to create the ultimate fairy tale ending.

Main Feature: "Cinderella" is a film I have fond memories of. I grew up with it, watched many a time. This was one of my mom's favorites. In this stunning new HD release, "Cinderella" has never looked as crisp and vibrant. The story remains wonderful, and the humor is still amusing and funny. Its a delightful, definitive rags-to-riches story that Walt Disney himself captured spectacularly. 

Special Features: The Signature Edition carries over much of the Diamond Edition's extras. Some get left behind, while others become digital (of which a code is included) exclusive bonuses. Those hoping for an extensive addition will be disappointed and is where this set suffers from the most. A significant, notable extra is commentary billed as "In Walt's Words: The Envisioning of Cinderella." Most of it is picture-in-picture commentary of original storyboards, Walt production meetings, etc. Still, not much to save the set

Final Call: The lack of significant, new extras to the "Cinderella" Signature Edition is what scales abck the quality of the Blu-ray set. But for those devoted fans looking to fit this into their shelves like a glass slipper will not be disappointed by the high-def presentation.
