Blu-ray Review: Peanuts: Ultimate TV Specials Collection

Discovery Home Entertainment releases Peanuts: 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection on Blu-ray and DVD October 7, 2025. For the first time, this commemorative collection brings together nearly five decades of beloved Peanuts TV specials, offering fans the ultimate way to revisit their favorite moments with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the entire Peanuts gang.

Main Feature: While the quality of the transfers are okay, the Peanuts: Ultimate TV Specials Collection is still a treat. Growing up solely on the holiday specials, the vast batch of older specials (this set omits the Apple and Paramount-owned specials), is a wonderful collection of simple entertainment. There is a certain timeless nature to certain classic entertainment, and Peanuts is one of them. The five-disc set may set-off technical purists looking for a nice upgrade, but certain outlets are reporting that no remastering occurred; the transfers were taken from SD sources rather than a fresh HD clean-up. This added character for my viewing experience, but if I have to admit, there should be a better tribute due, especially when the notable Christmas and Halloween specials already available on 4K UHD.

Bonus Features: Good grief, a booklet with listings of the each episode is in it. Nothing beyond for extras. This is the part that stings.

Final Call: Despite the lack of extras and subpar technical output, the Blu-ray Peanuts: Ultimate TV Specials Collection is still enjoyable despite these technological misses of the football.
