Synopsis: In the criminal justice system the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate the crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. So begins the acclaimed 1990-2010 NBC drama.
Main Feature: Whatever you call the sound between each setting, I went dun-dun when selecting Law & Order: The Complete Series DVD as one of my next requests for review. Sure, the show of it's stretch will run thin here and there, but what makes the longevity endure is the very civilization this entertainment resides in. Crime will continue to happen and so will the stories around them. Plus, true crime has taken on an exponential rise in popularity in the recent decades, so that aids in the draw to watch the classic original "ripped from the headlines" true crime show. The later seasons and revivals certainly showed weaknesses, with attempts to attract new audiences (and new generations) a tall order. Still, you cannot deny the influence this show has had not just on the crime show, police procedural but on television as a whole. That being said, it is sad to see this only get an SD release on DVD. Hopefully, that will come soon but alas, not now.

Bonus Features: Standard TV extras include but not limited to cast and crew interviews, set tours, deleted scenes, and featurettes. What I enjoyed is the crossover episodes intact for those looking for the various spinoffs and the Homicide: Life on the Street connection.

Final Call: While a show of it's caliber and stature in TV history deserves the full HD treatment, these are the stories of Law & Order: The Complete Series that will still satisfy on DVD format.

Grade: B+
