Chicago Critics Film Fest 2024 Review: In A Violent Nature

Synopsis: An ambient slasher that methodically depicts the enigmatic resurrection, rampage, and retribution of an undead monster in a remote wilderness.

Review: If you're a horror fan ready to scream at the stalking killer you're watching plod after their prize and victims, then In A Violent Nature is the film for you! No seriously, this movie is a chore. Aside from some quality gruesome kills, the film's choice to use the camera right behind the slasher protagonist is a novel one that just doesn't work, making a short movie into an epic-sized journey to nothing. Plainly put, this film gives some admirable blood and guts gore, but it's long-in-the-tooth approach exhausts it's welcome a third into it's already brief 90-something minute running time.
