Synopsis: Old-fashioned yarn about a band of adventurous kids who take on the might of a property developing company which plans to destroy their home to build a country club. When the children discover an old pirate map in the attic, they follow it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure but come up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way.
Main Features: Sure, as a kid, I thoroughly enjoyed "The Goonies." As an adult, it doesn't resonate for me as much. Perhaps over time, when my young son discovers it and we can share in the fun, but it very much is film adventure of a time gone by. One thing I can recognize as an adult and seasoned film viewer is the visuals. Especially with the climactic finish, the cinematography is quite something to relish. The UHD transfer isn't the greatest, but it certainly highlights something I can salute in my older age.

Bonus Features: All extras are housed solely on the accompanying standard Blu-ray disc. No bonus features exist on the UHD disc. The features on the standard Blu are carryovers from the previously released 25th anniversary Blu-ray. Nothing of great importance to get excited over. Standard fare, honestly: deleted scenes, cast commentary, a music video.

Final Call: "The Goonies" in 4K presentation has adults that grew up on it allowing the nostalgia to never die.
