Synopsis: Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell and Henry Travers, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE has made an indelible impact on popular culture and continues to be a cherished part of many families' holiday traditions.
Main Features: Nothing captures my holiday mood quite like It's A Wonderful Life. Never having grown up watching it fully, I never got the appeal, let alone the important message. After becoming a father, it certainly struck me. I cry, still feeling every frame of this, especially at the end. We all know the story. Its the timeless appeal that continues, including with this 75th Anniversary release. Granted, it's not wholly needed since the far superior 4K release is really all you need (by far the best restoration to UHD of an older/classic film). But passionate fans of the film could be enticed for the extras

Bonus Features: A nice digibook packaging opens to include the standard Blu-ray discs, identical to the 2019 HD release of the film (in standard packaging then). The extras are glossy, hardback stock of the Bailey family recipes. ironically, this constitutes to a tad bit overindulgence compared to previous, recent releases.

Final Call: It's A Wonderful Life will live on, earned its wings long ago and can be released unnecessarily more than once, but I will still find myself wanting to enjoy it.

Grade: B+
