Synopsis: Sara is an overweight teen who witnesses a stranger kidnap a clique of girls who bully her on a regular basis. When police start asking questions, Sara keeps quiet as she's torn between revealing the truth or protecting the man who saved her.
Review: Piggy was a revelation to me, a film with a basic premise that becomes cerebral in it's execution and suspense. Laura Galán as Sara is stellar in giving this film it's depth and transforming the plot's simplicity into layered complexity. The film could have been tightened up to give it's story a tighter, lean & mean thrill, but it is a minor quibble. Piggy is a dynamic film whose horrors are based in the brutal nature of bullying and the conflicts those bullied endure, but to an extreme examination.
